Kars-4-Kids Considering a New, Remixed Version of Their Theme
August 14th, 2011 | Added to Entertainment | 4 Comments »

Some of you may remember a few years ago when I wrote about how I donated an old truck of mine to Kars-4-Kids. The truth is that I really didn’t do any research on the group until after I made the donation, but when I first decided that I wanted to donate the truck the only service that came to mind was Kars-4-Kids. Why was that the only service that came to mind? Well, because of that theme song! Once you hear it, the theme song gets stuck in your head.

That’s why I was a little surprised when I received an e-mail from the Kars-4-Kids people asking me to vote in an online poll for a new version of their theme song. Here is the current version of the song, which is iconic in local radio, I think.

And here is the potential replacement – a newer version of the same song.

So, what do you think? Which version of the song is better? You can vote by clicking on this link and be sure to leave your thoughts in the comments box on this page – we’d love to read what you think!

A remixed version of that song – not all too different from the remix demo you posted – was done about two years ago. Occasionally, that particular remixed version will play in the Chicago area – but all too often, it is the “classic” one that annoys me.

I wish someone would take the kid and the old man uncle and run them down with their old truck before donating it.

Ha ha! Well, I’m just posting what the folks at Kars-4-Kids sent over. As I haven’t really listened to terrestrial radio in about 5 or 6 years, I don’t really know which one is the preferred theme of the day.

I thought it was interested that they didn’t show a picture of the older guy singing in the remixed version. Maybe because he hams it up too much!

The damage is already done, I’ll never give them a matchbox car let alone a real car after having to listen to that hideous song a few thousand times over the years.

Actually they now have some hybrid version with the old jingle but short story about nice charity things people did …they are pretty interesting stuff and it cuts off half the jingle , so that one’s got my vote:)
