Howard Stern is celebrating his one-year anniversary on SIRIUS Satellite Radio today. What a crazy year it’s been for the radio industry since he left terrestrial radio in December 2005. The truth is that more people are switching to satellite radio (willingly or unwillingly as we’ll talk about in a minute). As one of those people who moved from terrestrial to satellite radio, I have to say that the move to Sirius has been great.

Sure, I wish I could pay less each month for the services, but the quality of the product far exceeds anything on terrestrial radio. And yes, there really is 100% commercial-free music on satellite radio; and once you go commercial-free, it’s REALLY hard to go back!

The best thing about the service is the way that you get a crystal clear reception. Sometimes I like to listen to ABC News on the AM dial and sometimes I just like to listen to political commentators on the AM dial. It’s so hard to listen to these people on a regular car radio because you get all of that annoying feedback and buzzing. Not on satellite radio!

I highly recommend satellite radio and since SIRIUS Satellite Radio is the growing company with the big stars and 100% commercial-free radio (XM has commercials on some of their music stations), I would suggest looking at them first!
