And now today’s aggravating experience at Wal-Mart…

I’ll never understand why shoppers feel the need to stop at the end of an aisle and hover when there is no other consumer traffic either coming or going. You know these people. They are the ones that linger at the end of an aisle and sort of look at the vast Wal-Mart in front of them and wonder, “Wow – where do I go next?” Hey, here’s a clue – get the fuck out of the way so I can go and buy my stupid candle and get on with my day, damn it! By the way, the Wal-Mart in Neptune has a great deal on candles where you can buy two large, scented candles and three votive candles of the same flavor for $10 all in – not bad.

However, I didn’t run into any of these people at the Wal-Mart today. Instead, I ran into their sinister cousins – the folks who think it’s a great idea to stop and scan their receipt when they are one foot outside of the store. These morons feel that it is their right to block the exit of the store so they can scan their receipt to make sure that the three fucking items that they purchased were correctly registered. Really? You bought three items and you couldn’t pay attention while they were being rung up, nor could you scan your receipt while you were walking towards the exit (which is acceptable)? Instead, you had to wait until the fresh, outside air hit you in the face until you realized that you were a waste of guts and skin?

That’s how self-consumed some people can really be. And it’s also how incredibly dumb human beings can be – imagine a person that can’t walk and scan a six inch receipt. They have to stop their entire body from moving so they can read a few numbers. Absolutely incredible.

Meet Danica Wallace and Jeremy Welch. The Ohio couple was arrested Friday after cops spotted them having sex in a car while Wallace’s two small children were in the vehicle’s back seat. According to a Springfield Police Department report, a copy of which you’ll find here, Wallace, 24, was driving a Ford Taurus when she and Welch, 29, “pulled off the roadway to have sex.” When police approached the vehicle, they discovered Wallace, naked from the waist down, astride a similarly pantsless Welch, who was seated in the front passenger seat. Welch, who was “extremely intoxicated,” offered cops a simple explanation for the pair’s conduct: “We got horny and just wanted to fuck!!”

The society described in Idiocracy is EXACTLY what our world is headed towards and ridiculous stories like this one only prove that fact.

They got horny…come on!

OPEC, which accounts for more than 40 percent of the world’s supply, will next meet in Oran, Algeria, on Dec. 17. In a statement after yesterday’s meeting in Cairo, the group warned demand will be “much lower” than expected a month ago. The cost of crude has continued to slide even after the group agreed last month to lower production by 1.5 million barrels a day.

There shouldn’t be a problem with reducing the amount of oil that is generated by the oil cartel since worldwide demand is decreasing. That’s fine – that’s simple supply and demand: when demand goes down, supplies do not need to be as high. However, to reduce supply of a vital resources to a point where prices skyrocket is unacceptable. The world is taking notice of what OPEC does and its people will respond in turn.

Remember last month when OPEC cut their production by 1.5 million barrels per day? The purpose of the cut was to drive prices higher. Instead, prices sunk a few dollars per barrel on the very same day the cut was announced. Thankfully, the people of the world are beginning to seriously consider alternative energy sources and they are moving in that direction in large numbers. This shift away from a petroleum-based life is what the world needs to cut off some of these middle eastern countries who try to dictate their financial needs upon the world.

Let’s hope that demand continues to decrease as consumers continue to purchase energy efficient vehicles, household items, and renewable/resuable resources.
