I think you missed my point on O'Reilly. While I agree that, on occasion, he passes his opinion off as more legit than that of his guests, as I stated earlier in the post - the man is an entertainer as much as he is a commentator. That's part of his brand of entertainment.

On that, what I find really entertaining is when one of his guests calls him on this point! Just watch the ACORN interview from last night when the guests were literally laughing at his opinions.

Plus, I don't watch the pundits for "news," rather I watch them for the humor of it all.

You're kidding, right? You're telling me that there aren't any absurd statements on O'Reilly's show without a strong counterpoint? The guy presents his opinions not as opinions, but rather as gospil fact and truth, and if somebody tells him he's wrong and tries to smarten him up, he tells them to shut up, or in at least one interview I saw, that the law was wrong because he knows he's right. Not that the law could be better or should be changed which would have been fine, but the law is wrong because, that's the end of the story, get off the set and shut your mouth. Personality in editorial comment is all well and good, but even better is being at least somewhat informed while you're giving it.

I'd personally rather my news stick to news without leaning in either direction, and my commentary be given to me by folks with the first hint of a clue. That's why I avoid American news networks whenever possible and stick to things like CBC Newsworld. Sometimes biases come through there, but it's not so overt as to turn me off and more than not the facts of the story are actually that, the facts of the story.
