Unfortunately, the Canadian version of this company, The Source, will apparently be remaining in business. Sad news that is. It was no good when we called it Radio Shack, and it's no good now. Ridiculous prices, employees who couldn't tell their arseholes from holes in the ground with illustrations to help 'em out (guy who helped me out with some computer networking stuff a few years ago excluded) and the insane third degree you got when you actually decided to buy something. What's your name? What's your address? What's your phone number? What'd you have for breakfast this morning? Have you taken a dump today? Are you free for dinner on Friday? That place is god awful. It's sad to see things moving in the direction of the big box places rather than the smaller stores, but if it means no more Radio Source, I'm all for it. That place, to put things somewhat politely, puffs the magic dragon.

In the towns of Joliet and Orland near where I live, they both have (or had) a Circuit City and a Best Buy. Each and every single time I ever wanted something, it was always Best Buy without any hesitation or any added thought of going to Circuit City. I would only go to Circuit City if Best Buy didn't have something I wanted (and of course, Circuit City wouldn't have it either). I think you might be correct about the no open cash register thing. I seem to remember standing in line and asking my fiance where the cashier was and if there isn't a cashier there, then the item should be free. That was a long time ago.
