Heynow! Thanks for the review! Honest feedback is always welcome. I’ve taken Fred’s feedback and applied it to my manuscript. I cut a whopping 40,000 words (about 150 pages) and have sent it off for a decent copy edit. I’m also in talks with agents and at least two hollywood types I met at a writer’s conference. I’m still hoping to break into the mainstream market place.

As for not resolving the bug element of the story, I was leading into the second story. The next story takes place in the near future, as we battle the bugs, and prepare to face the Houmn.

Science Fiction Fan – The bugs were actually intriguing, but then the book goes off in other directions. Franklin writes a great scene where the bugs destroy some military guys. It’s gruesome and tantalizing at the same time, but again – the story then drifts off to the other aliens that are supposed to be friends with the humans.

It gets complicated and what annoys me the most is that the alien bugs and their invasion of earth are never revisited after a certain point in the book. The reader is left hanging.

I was almost hooked when you said the planet was invaded by bugs. But I guess I’ll wait on this one as you seem to think it is a skipper, not a keeper.
