I don’t understand where you you disagree with Maher. Is it with the Nazi remark/Hitler Youth? Or is it where the Pope covered up the molestations in the US? Either way this Pope has a checkered past and in a secular world he would have to answer for these things because the coverup was wrong.

BTW Maher never suggested that anybody harm Cheney he just said “IF” he died.

I agree with you that Maher is a jerk, but mostly because he is so full of himself and self-righteous.

So here’s what I understand- currently there aren’t many people calling for him to be fired, only to apologize. And let me understand this…. Dog the Bounty Hunter gets his show canceled for a secretly taped PRIVATE conversation with his son in which he says the ‘n-word’ BUT the low-class Bill Maher will only get applause from his clueless audience for his heinous remarks about the Pope and perhaps a slap on the wrist by network execs (if even that).

You know, this world really does make perfect sense.

Yeah – he’s not a good person.

One of the things that boggles my mind is that the whole world is generally afraid to condemn actions that are obviously wrong. What Bill Maher said about the Pope is WRONG – it wasn’t satire nor was it a perfectly placed barb at a religious leader – it was pathetic. It was wrong.

For those in this world who are so wrapped up in the day’s concept of “there is no right and wrong,” then I don’t expect them to understand why Bill Maher is a scumbag. That said, even in a completely secular world this man should be held to task for the disturbing things he said about the Pope.

And for what he said about Cheney – again, Maher seems to forget that the whole world doesn’t agree with him. Cheney’s time in the White House (and his boss’ time especially) may have lost them more support than they ever gained (I’ll raise my hand), but saying the man should die? Disgusting.
