Sigma Pi Gets Front Page Recognition

Posted in College Life, Local Politics at 7:27 pm by Joe No Comments »

Today, the brothers at the Delta-Beta Chapter of Sigma Pi Fraternity garnered a front page headline in the local paper, the Asbury Park Press. Though the link below will not show you the picture of Joe Mullan or Bob Wankel, it does include the entire, full-text of the story (at least for the next week it will). A picture of Bob and Joe holding the ACE Project banner appears on the front page of this newspaper, if you’re in the Monmouth County area and want to see two GOOD college students:

COLLEGIANS: WE’RE NOT ALL ROWDIES

As any fraternity leader can tell you, press like this is very exciting in the Monmouth University area. I understand that most college areas are against students from the very start, but the “witch hunt” that goes on around Monmouth University is extremely frightening at times. Not only are the civil liberties of our these young men trampled on a weekly basis, but the local governments back the actions that you’ll read about in the article. And remember, I’m a guy who routinely had police just walk into his house at all hours of the night after the majority of the roommates were asleep. They were “just checking” - sound a little fascist to anyone?

I’m extremely proud of the Sigma Pi guys at Monmouth University. It’s not easy to put yourself out there like these guys have. I remember getting all different types of great responses to my student loan article last year, but I also remember getting some really vicious, unintelligent responses, too. I applaud the effort that these guys are putting into making the reality of their situation work.

Um, What?

Ladies and gentlemen, I don’t know what to say about this. In case you haven’t heard it, a man in London CUT OFF HIS OWN PENIS. How does that thought even cross your mind? Damn it. It’s bad enough when you hear any type of strange story involving that part of a man, but my god, to terrorize a pizza place with a knife, only to then use it to cut your own johnson off I mean come on. Come on buddy. This guy needs some SERIOUS attention. I understand there are people who have mental problems, but I still don’t see how this thought can enter anyone’s mind. Cutting off your own penis? CUTTING IT OFF? Damn it Damn it Damn it. It’s mind-boggling. Poor bastard.

Book Review: Culture Warrior

Posted in Media Reviews, United States Politics at 11:24 am by Joe No Comments »

As Bill O’Reilly’s latest offering, Culture Warrior does a few important things. First, it clearly relates the man’s state of mind. To that end, Bill defines what the real war is in America today: the secular progressives vs. the traditionalists. Anyone who has been a member of this society and kept an untainted view on the recent history of our country knows that the Democrat vs. Republican crap that you see on television every night is a bunch of bullshit. Yes, each political party would like to have all of the power of the other party, but that isn’t what is tearing our country apart. Aside from an unbelievably bloated immigration system, what is hurting our country are the people who say that NAMBLA has a right to exist.

I can’t think of a better example of O’Reilly’s culture war proclamation than the NAMBLA case. For those of you that don’t know, NAMBLA stands for National Man Boy Love Association. You don’t want to pass judgment until you know what their purpose is? Okay. Their purpose is to decriminalize rape between older men and young boys. No, not young boys like college kids or high school kids – we’re talking elementary school kids and younger. Yes, a ridiculous organization like this exists!

Now, if you think that these men are completely heinous and should be thrown in prison for engaging in these acts, then you believe in traditional American values. However, if you believe that these pedophilic perverts have a right to engage in their activity as a part of their pursuit of happiness, then you are a secular progressive warrior. My suggestion is to take no shame in either position that you hold because I’ve always believed in saying what you mean and meaning what you say. So if you believe that these rotten scumbags have a right to do what they do, then by all means don’t be a bitch about it. Stand up and proudly proclaim that you believe older men should be able to rape young boys.

And when you do that, don’t be afraid when 99% of the country calls you an asshole and shuns you. It’s only the traditionalist army coming out and finally speaking their minds.

O’Reilly’s book talks about other issues, too. However, if you’ve been a viewer of his television show for the past few years, you know most of the rest of the book. He talks about the very real war on Christmas and how it was won due to common sense, traditional thinking Americans. He talks about the absolutely abhorrent sexual predator case in Vermont where a little girl was raped for 4 years and the rapist was given SIXTY DAYS IN JAIL! Thankfully, the sentence was extended to 3 years, but that’s still not enough - by a long shot.

I think for those of you who watch O’Reilly’s television show, this book will serve to reinforce what you probably already know of his positions on some major issues. What I found interesting in the book was the research put into the people who are the progressive leaders in America and the world. Very interesting stuff which I think everyone would enjoy reading.

The book is well written and a quick, 200-page read. I recommend this book (as I recommend most books) if not for supporting the stance that O’Reilly takes in this culture war, then at least to gain an alternative perspective on today’s world.

Harry Reid Should Step Down

Posted in Idiots, Morons, & Fools, United States Politics, World Politics at 2:08 pm by Joe No Comments »

In a world where Imus was fired from his radio show, Senator Trent Lott had to give up the Senate Majority Leader position, and where Senator John McCain is being lambasted by left-wingers for saying “Bomb Iran,” it is only right that Senator Harry Reid of Nevada apologize for his tyrannical comments and then step down from his position as Senate Majority Leader.

In case you haven’t heard, Senator Reid said that the war in Iraq was lost. His comments as reported by the Boston Globe were:

I believe myself that the secretary of state, secretary of defense, and — you have to make your own decisions as to what the president knows — [know] this war is lost and the surge is not accomplishing anything as indicated by the extreme violence in Iraq yesterday.

That’s disgusting and I find it highly offensive. To say that our men and women in Iraq are losers and that they are fighting a go-nowhere war is not only sanctimonious on the part of this rogue Senator, but it shows you the true heart of the far left people in this country.

Not only has the troop surge quelled the majority of the violence in Baghdad, but the troops already won the war when they accomplished their mission. And for those of you who either can’t or don’t want to remember what that very clear, very direct mission was back in 2003 - it was to depose Saddam Hussein’s government and find weapons of mass destruction.

Saddam is good and dead and hundreds of chemical weapons have been found in Iraq. In fact, the mission WAS accomplished. All of this bullshit that is going on now is the result of an overzealous military campaign led by a Commander in Chief whose eyes had a bigger appetite than his stomach.

But for the love of God, the war isn’t lost and for anyone - including Senator Reid - to say that it IS lost is disgusting. In fact, when there are troops that are fighting against “enemies,” these words are treason.

Harry Reid - step down.

Eight Years Later – Remembering Columbine

Posted in College Life, Idiots, Morons, & Fools, Random Entries, United States Politics at 12:12 pm by Joe No Comments »

Now, I’m generally not one to bring back tragic memories of the past and write about them. However, given the Virginia Tech massacre earlier this week, everyone has a renewed awareness about the other major school-related tragedy in recent history – the Columbine High School shootings.

As I blogged about earlier this week, what I remember from the Columbine situation was coming home from school and sitting down in horror as I watched kids literally jumping out of windows to escape from the two maniacs who began shooting up the school. At the time, I was a Senior in high school and my other vivid memory was going to class the next day and (in Mr. Wilkens’ class) making sure that the doors to the classroom were both closed and locked – if possible. That day in school there was absolutely no education curriculum covered, just people talking about the Columbine shootings. Even the teachers were a little uneasy – and rightfully so.

It turns out that the day after Columbine, one of the less popular kids in my high school went to school wearing a black trench coat which, if you’ll remember, was what the killers at Columbine wore – calling themselves the Trench Coat mafia. As if this wasn’t scary enough, the bastard kid at my high school was found with a list of names of people he’d like to see die. Not many people from my high school know about this situation even today. I had a small degree of access given my position as the Student Body President, but all our Principal would tell me (a few weeks after the fact) was that there was a student who was expelled for bringing that list to school and some type of weapon…never found out what that weapon was, though.

The collective consciousness of the country has got to be saddened today. Even these far-left, socialist-minded liberals out there who are trying to ruin our country have got to stop and say, “Damn, this sucks.” I single out this cohort of people specifically because there has been no greater group of protagonists preaching the need for less rigid social structures. Part of their battle has been fought in the education arena, where they fight for lower standards to make everyone feel included. This is exactly what happened at Virginia Tech. A kid who should have been put away or at least taken out of regular society was allowed to be in the same area as the thousands of normal kids because of the progressive mindset of reintegration.

And late word out of Columbine is that the two bastards who killed all of those people 8 years ago showed similar anti-social attitudes. In fact, the word coming out of Columbine is so strong that people are calling for all of the sealed documents from the days after Columbine to be re-opened. Whether or not that will happen, I’m not sure.

What I do know is that everyone should be a little saddened today that one of America’s traditional strongholds is under attack. If our schools are not safe any more, then just what IS safe these days?

The Day The Internet Died

Posted in Computers & Internet at 12:11 pm by Joe No Comments »

Each morning when I wake up I take a quick scan of my various e-mail accounts and then give the news a quick before I get in my truck and go to work. I give them a quick scan because I know that I’ll have some time at the office to do a full review of both the e-mail and the news. Sounds logical, right?

Well, I get into the office this morning and there’s no internet! At the office we have Verizon DSL and our resident tech woman said that the only thing the call center told her was that all subscribers in the area were down. Now everyone knows how completely horrendous Verizon is when it comes to customer service and how they live and breathe by the mantra of “the customer is always wrong,” but when you have the internet shut down right at the prime time of the day when office workers throughout the region are looking to check their latest e-mails, you need to give more of an explanation.

But what does it matter? Verizon knows they can have shitty, arrogant customer service people because if we all switch to Cablevision, their call center people are even worse. In our free market economy, it absolutely sucks that consumers are so limited with their choices in terms of high-speed, reliable internet access.

Spring?

Posted in Random Entries, The State of New Jersey at 11:59 am by Brian No Comments »

FINALLY, a day in the Northeast that actually feels like spring. With temperatures close to 70 and the SUN, that’s right the sun is out, shining brightly maybe we can finally move on into spring. I’m actually more partial to the cold and Autumn is my favorite season. However, I do not like snow storms and monsoons in April with temperatures in the 40’s. So, as my lunch break from work is winding down I’m going to go back outside, get in my car, put my windows down and drive around for a little while. Good day to you.

Why?

Posted in Idiots, Morons, & Fools, Random Entries at 6:19 pm by Brian No Comments »

I didn’t want to write about what happened at Virginia Tech. It’s a tragedy that really goes beyond anything I can say about it. But, three days removed from it I still feel anger, for a number of reasons. First the actual events. I’ve just been having the picture in my head of this kid walking down the halls and I can’t imagine what it must have been like. I envision myself there and what I would have done. Who knows that. You can never imagine what it is you would do in a situation such as that unless you are in it. The murder of 32 innocent kids, just getting to exprience life fully, is absolutely horrific. I can’t imagine. My thoughts and prayers are with the families.

Another thing that gets me angry is seeing this fucking bastard’s face and words plastered all over the local news channels, the national news channels, every major newspaper, every website, you name it, you see him. Christ NBC Nightly News played clips of the videos he sent in. Hypocritically I disagree with doing that. I say that I hypocritically disagree because I watched it. But isn’t this exactly what this fuck wanted? Aren’t we in a way glorifying what he did? Letting him be able to express his fucked up views and thoughts. It’s pathetic.

And the last thing that gets me angry. It’s not his parents fault, it’s not TV’s fault, it’s not the music industry’s fault and it’s not the movie industry’s fault. Blame for this lies on one person and one person only. Cho Seung-Hui. Whether or not his pictures were taken from that movie are irrelevent. That’s what’s wrong with this country these days. Everything is pushed onto someone else. There is no accountability for your actions. Movies didn’t tell him to do this. A song didn’t tell him to do this. I don’t care what you say, that’s a fucking bullshit excuse. Fuck, I wathced The Terminator when I was 6 years old, SIX! Sure your surroundings play a part in how you turn out, but at some point you have to look in the mirror. This kid was a fucking coward who couldn’t deal with being a social mutant. Gain some fucking social skills, if you can’t live in a normal society, then don’t go to a major university. Go to some little community college, live at home, work and that’s that. If you want to write, then write. Don’t make excuses that other kids have it better, and the rich kids get this and that, fuck you. That is such a load of shit. Push it off onto other people instead of realizing that you’re the one with the problem. It’s bullshit. And the fact that this shit-head pulled the gun on himself instead of facing what he had coming to him proves that he is a coward. I hope he burns in hell.

A Donkey Testifies in Texas Trial

Posted in Random Entries at 12:26 pm by Joe No Comments »

Well, we’ve come close to the end of Western civilization. A donkey - yes, an animal - testified in a noisy neighbor trial in Dallas.

A donkey…testified…in a trial…in a court of law.

I don’t even know what to say about this…a donkey.

Book Review: State of Emergency

Posted in Media Reviews, United States Politics at 12:52 am by Joe No Comments »

Patrick J. Buchanan tells a compelling story in State of Emergency that is enough to make you want to get up off your seat and run outside and do something. The issue of the book is illegal and rampant immigration. The scare of the book is that Mr. Buchanan isn’t telling some story - he’s speaking the cold, hard truth.

One of the points that is hammered home time and time again in the book is how our country is experiencing an indigestion from our current immigration policies. We have allowed more immigrants to enter the United States since the mid-1960’s through 2006 as we allowed to enter our country from the founding of the first British colonies in the 1600’s through the 1960’s. Think about that for a minute. More people have entered into America in the last 40 years than the 400 years prior. That’s insanity!

This is, of course, a result of the liberal, cultural revolution that took place in the 1960’s. Senator Ted Kennedy supported the bill that overturned our immigration system and Mr. Buchanan preaches that it is high time that we re-institute our former halt on immigration while we allow the “melting pot” of America time to assimilate our new citizens. Now before all of you dim-witted, half-truth throwing liberals say that to do this is xenophobic and racist, do some fucking research. America had a VERY tight immigration policy before the 1960’s. And during this time we were able to bring in millions of immigrants and assimilate them into American culture. It worked like a charm.

But no one can deny that the outrageous immigration situation in America today is failing us as a nation. First of all, the basic tenets of the laws have been bastardized by a liberal system. What does that mean? It means this… Did you know that if you are born in America, you do NOT necessarily become an automatic citizen? Part of the 14th amendment that granted citizenship to all those born in America also says, “subject to the jurisdiction thereof.” Well, what does that mean? That means that if you are born in America, if you are not born by those who are subject to American jurisdiction (illegal immigrants), then you are NOT an American citizen.

And that’s not hardcore right-wing bomb throwing. That’s right there in the Constitution. Look it up.

Mr. Buchanan backs up his statements with a bevy of historical data that one cannot rely deny. At times when I was reading this book I thought it would have been nice to have an opposing point of view to compare Mr. Buchanan’s ideas with. However, the sad truth is that there are few people out there who take an intelligently legitimate stand when talking about these issues.

For example, how many pro-immigration activists do you ever hear talking about La Reconquista and the real threat of Mexican legal and illegal immigrants attempting to re-annex the Southwest of America? It’s NOT just people on the right side of the aisle screaming and hooting and hollering about nothing!

The beauty of Mr. Buchanan’s book is that his overwhelming knowledge of world and American history provides him with a basis for his thoughts which is rare in today’s political climate. And there is a degree of self-humiliation in his writing, too. Mr. Buchanan openly states when he has supported previous legislation that turned out to be the wrong course of action (he talks about support President Kennedy’s now-failed immigration policies and President Reagan’s unsuccessful amnesty program).

This is a great book for anyone who wants the future of this country to be an American future. And for all of you bigots and dishonest intellectuals out there, an “American” future doesn’t preclude any influence from the rest of the world, nor does it mean that we stop our immigration policies and just close up shop. It means that we protect that which is ours in this culture and we teach those moving into this country the American ideals. And, quite frankly, it means that the phrase of, “American - love it or leave it” becomes more than a phrase.

It becomes a reality - just like it used to be.

I highly recommend this book - you can find it on Amazon or at Barnes & Noble. And once you’ve read it, be sure to let me know what you think!
