We all know that there is an election in November. Those of us in the great (wet) state of New Jersey should know that we have a pretty important United States’ Senate race that requires real consideration before a vote is cast. The candidates show a clear difference, but I wonder how our friends in Essex, Camden, and the other heavily urban areas are going to screw up their vote this time around…
How dare I say they’re screwing up their vote? Please. These are folks who vote for people simply because they have a (D) after their name. And before you get up on a soapbox, I know that there are people who mindlessly vote Republican, but look at this race.
You have Bob Menendez, the Democrat. This man was appointed to the position by a now-highly unpopular, tax-hike crazy Governor. Menendez has been embroiled in questionable ethics allegations. In a nutshell, Menendez was a United States Congressman, asked for money to be allocated to the North Hudson Community Action Corporation…then he turned around and (as a private citizen) rented space to this organization in the amount of $300,000 over ten years.
Do you see how that’s wrong? He literally had the federal government PAY for $300,000 to go directly into his own pocket!
But, he’s got a (D) after his name…in this state, it doesn’t matter what you do. The Holy Grail in New Jersey is having that (D) after your name because the mindless masses in this state simply walk into a polling area on Election Day and look for that sacred number.
They don’t study issues beforehand. They don’t look for who is the better man overall. They don’t look to see how their vote will impact their lives AND the lives of those in their state or country.
They just look for the (D) and go for it…and time and time again, they screw up our state in the process.
