From Corzine’s address to the legislature yesterday:
“I understand an increase in the sales tax is politically difficult, just as the $2.5 billion in cuts I proposed in March were politically difficult. Any spending cut, any tax increase is politically risky and difficult. But I also understand that taking a problem head on is better than hiding from it, even when it hurts. Not doing the right thing because it’s too hard or too uncomfortable isn’t acceptable. Not today, and not ever.”
How can this multi-millionaire “understand” how much increasing the sales tax would hurt NJ citizens? How dare he! He wants to take a problem “head on” instead of hiding from it?
Fine – what about the Abbott schools in New Jersey that are so lavished with money that they now far outrank the rich, suburban schools in terms of technology and infrastructure? Oh wait, test scores are still not that great in the urban districts? Gee, you think that throwing fucking money at the problem is going to make these grades rise? NO! STOP giving our money to these newly rich “Abbott” districts and give us a break!
You want another problem to hit head on? For you New Jerseyans out there – how many times have you been driving on the Parkway or the Turnpike in the winter and you see ten or twelve salt trucks lined up…while it’s raining?!? And did you know that those guys get $50+ per hour? How about you bring state wages out of the fucking stratsophere and down into the real world? New Jersey is the only state in the nation where it makes more sense to work for the government than private industry!
Oh, here’s a problem to hit head on – stop throwing ridiculous benefit plans at millionaire lawmakers. How dare Corzine feel himself righteous for not taking a salary! This man has got butt tons of millions sitting in the bank making him more my by just being there! Why not encourage our lawyer-filled legislature to give up their salaries for the year? Lord knows that they can ALL afford it on both sides of the aisle.
What a disgusting human being to tell us that we need to raise our sales tax (amid a TON of other tax and fee increases). This man is so completely out of touch with reality that it’s borderline institutional. And honestly, I don’t blame him. He’s the epitome of a limosuine liberal and it’s obvious by just doing the most preliminary of studies on the man.
I blame the moron voters in this state in the heavily urban districts! Between Union County and Camden County, that’s all Corzine needed to win…and now the very same people in those counties decry the state government?!? This is what you folks wanted – this is what you’ve ALWAYS wanted. You’ve always wanted a Democrat in office because you’re brainwashed to think that way. Sure, you may throw a vote to a Republican here and there, but because you live in the city, because it’s what your families have done for years, because it’s what someone told you to do – you keep voting for Democrats.
So thanks a lot, brainwashed Democratic masses in New Jersey. Because of you we’re all getting higher taxes and because of you we’re in the first-ever state shutdown because our arrogant, crybaby governor that YOU elected has no concept of how much his tax increases are going to hurt the common man and woman in this state.
Way to go…better get ready for the next election so you can vote for the next Democratic candidate because “Republicans are evil” and “third parties don’t matter.” Idiots.

IMPEACH CORZINE!!!!! HE IS A LUNATIC!!!!
I completely agree. He’s so far in the stratosphere that he can’t even understand why New Jerseyans can’t afford an extra $300 per year in sales tax!
YOU ALL KICKED THE GAY GUY OUT FOR THIS SHIT?
Well, the gay guy was a complete moron for different reasons – not because he was gay, but because we was the king (queen?) of corruption!
