Ocean Grove to Host 1st Annual Wellness Weekend April 28-30
Free workshops and health screenings to be held throughout town
OCEAN GROVE, NJ – The historic town of Ocean Grove is hosting its first annual “Refresh, Renew, & Revisit Ocean Grove” the weekend of April 28-30th. Organized by the Chamber of Commerce, and beginning Friday night, the weekend will focus on providing workshops and education sessions at the Youth Temple as well as at many inns throughout town. Various retail businesses along Main Avenue will also participate with special offerings for the event.
Free informational workshops and demonstrations will be offered to the public on topics such as nutrition, yoga, exercise, massage, acupuncture, Reiki, Feng Shui, reflexology, skincare, aromatherapy, and weight loss. Over 30 certified practitioners are registered to participate and share their expertise. Additionally, free osteoporosis, diabetes, skin cancer, hearing, blood pressure, body fat analysis, and stress screenings will be offered in the Youth Temple.
For over a century, millions have made special trips to the seaside village of Ocean Grove seeking renewal. Whether to take in the sea air, walk the boards, or connect with community, Ocean Grove remains one of the last bastions along the east coast for spiritual and physical revitalization.
“What better place to offer a wellness weekend,” says Pam Mauro, an organizer and owner of the Angel Nook Inn in Ocean Grove. “We encourage folks from near and far to come and participate – there will be something for everyone!”
In addition to mind and body renewal, a Clean Ocean Action “Beach Sweep” will take place in Ocean Grove on Saturday, April 29, from 9 am to 12 pm. Volunteers can help rejuvenate the NJ coastline. Sign up at www.cleanoceanaction.org.
The weekend kicks off on Friday evening and runs through Sunday afternoo. A schedule of events will be available at the Chamber of Commerce office as well as at businesses and inns at the start of the weekend. Visit www.oceangrovenj.com for a more details as well as a directory of inns, if you plan to stay the weekend. Weekenders can enjoy special packages at participating inns. Hi! I’m with Brookdale Water Watch, the organization that is running the beach sweep on the 29th. We are planning for our volunteers to arrive at 10am. What else is planned that day?
